Development of Verification Device for Multitarget Radar Velocimeter Based on Echo Signal Simulation Technology

Speeding is one of the leading causes traffic crashes worldwide. Radar velocimeter widely used in capture monitoring road overspeed violations, which can effectively reduce probability accidents and protect people’s life property safety to greatest extent. As a new type radar velocimeter, multitarget (MTRV) monitor speed more than two vehicles at same time. However, verification method device MTRV’s performance need be studied. In order solve problem for MTRV, based on echo signal simulation technology developed this paper. The measurement mechanism MTRV with different including velocity, distance, angle first introduced. Then, proposed. receive emission process by technology, target generation, Doppler frequency shift, time delay, angel control, targets are simulated nominal value. processed parameter values reflected MTRV. After received obtained. Comparing measured device, error realized verify accuracy reliability results. velocity range up (-300~300) km/h, distance (10~45) m when incident was within (-60~60)°. generation also verified. And maximum permissible (MPE) ±0.05 MPE ±0.3 m, ±0.2°. Finally, uncertainty evaluation results sample validated effectiveness feasibility proposed
